I Don’t Want To Lose My Teeth
“I don’t want to lose my teeth” is a perfectly understandable feeling. No one in their right mind would choose the option of losing one or more teeth if there was a better alternative. On this page we are going to talk about if there is a better alternative for YOU.
There are different situations, including one that needs immediate attention from a professional, read on to learn more about that. Even if your situation is not immediately critical, you should always be working with and under the care of a dental professional. Not all dental professionals are equal. They vary in their knowledge, actual skill at implementation and importantly, their level of greed or lack thereof. Level of actual or true care about and for patients is often difficult to discern clearly. You’ll want to do your best to find someone you both trust and like. That’s a good start, but there is always more. When it comes to your teeth, not just any doctor will do.
Don’t worry, we will get on to what you can do for yourself. But first, there is something important to get out of the way.
One Circumstance Requires Immediate Attention
There is one circumstance where I would caution you to forget this page (and the rest of the Internet) and go to a PERIODONTIST immediately! That circumstance is this: DO YOU HAVE A LOOSE TOOTH RIGHT NOW? If you do have a loose adult tooth right now, stop what you are doing and find a periodontist. That feeling of, “I don’t want to lose my teeth”, is a little more valid in this case. But there is still hope, even in this scenario.
The reason why is that you can no longer do self help if a tooth is loose. You have to find a good periodontist who will save the tooth! Read that again, you are in crisis mode and you must find a periodontist who will SAVE the tooth. Notice that I did not write that you need to find a periodontist who will PULL the tooth and install an implant. I did NOT say that. I said to find one that will SAVE the tooth. Be sure to tell him, “I don’t want to lose my teeth”, so that he will understand that you want to have them saved and not pulled!
The Best Professional To Seek Out For This Type Of Problem
Periodontists have the best skill set out of all the professions to do this. That is why I chose to send you to one immediately if you have one or more loose adult teeth. Now, there is still a problem to look out for. Many periodontists today will not utilize their skill set to save your tooth. Because it is more lucrative and even easier to pull a tooth and do an implant, there is a danger. Find a professional who wants to save your teeth, not pull them.
It might take some work and may take visiting more than one periodontist, but go find a periodontist who will use his training to SAVE YOUR TOOTH or TEETH.
Again, if you have a loose adult tooth, close this page and the entire Internet and go find a periodontist who will save your tooth or teeth right now. Do not pass go and do not collect $200. Stop what you are doing and get this taken care of immediately. You have a bit of a crisis on your hands and this is no time to play around if you want to keep your loose tooth or teeth.
If Your Adult Tooth or Teeth Are Not Loose, But You Are Concerned About Losing Them, Then Read On
If you are reading this, there is a good chance that your dental health professional has said or done something (or both) that has scared you to the core. I understand, I had a similar experience. I was very, very concerned and even worried. But I didn’t need to worry. After some hard work, personal exploration and searching for answers, I was able to figure some things out and I eventually found the tool that I needed to help my gums become healthy again.
I’ll put a link at the bottom of this post to the tool that worked for me, if you want to skip ahead. But I encourage you to read this entire post. You can give me a call if you have questions as well.
Was The Fear Of Losing My Teeth Being Used To Manipulate Me?
I was told some outrageous things by my dental professionals. They wanted to do a SRP, which is also called a Scaling and Root Planing or Deep Cleaning treatment, on my mouth. The problem is they are expensive and potentially painful and typically have to be redone in one to three years. I didn’t think that was a great solution to the problem. Some dental literature also indicates that this type of treatment might cause gum recession all by itself.
I was also told that if I didn’t let them do that treatment THAT DAY, that I had to sign a waiver that if I lost my teeth it wasn’t my their fault. There was that fear that comes from the thought, “I don’t want to lose me teeth”. There was a willingness on my part to sign that waiver, because I figured there had to be a better way. Somehow, after all that fuss, there didn’t actually seem to be a waiver to sign. Interesting?
There Had To Be An Answer That Made More Sense
I was determined to beat this problem. I tried oil pulling, essential oils, various toothpastes and mouthwashes, but not of that seemed to work. Every time I went back to that dentist’s office, they would tell me that I wasn’t any better and that I better get that treatment done.
That all changed one day. I found something that I used and when I went back in, both the dentist and hygienist was shocked. I could see the look of disbelief on the dentist’s face. At first, I thought she had horrible news for me, her face seemed to express a stern grimness. But when she said that I everything was better and I know longer needed ‘that’ treatment – the SRP, I understood that look was one of shock. She said that whatever I was doing I should keep it up. But she didn’t follow up with the obvious question: “What did you do to get your gums healthy again?”.
Stopping The Fear
The link below will take you to what I used to make my gums health again. If you are worried about losing your teeth, you need to keep in mind that the key, in most cases, is to make your gums healthy again. Unhealthy gums, or gum disease, is the number one cause of tooth loss. Nothing else even comes close. Make your gums healthy again and there is a good chance that you can keep the teeth you have for a lifetime of good service.
If you still have that feeling of “I don’t want to lose my teeth”, don’t despair. I’ve talked to many people over the last 10 years and for most of the people I have talked to, this worked for them too.
One final word on how you will know if this works for YOU personally, or not. The key is an objective measurement called “periodontal pocket depths”. Have your dentist measure them at every visit. Generally speaking, if you can get and keep your pockets to 3mm or less, most dental professionals will call that healthy gum tissue. Problem solved.
I hope you can now put that bad feeling to rest and that you won’t struggle with the pain of the thought, “I don’t want to lose my teeth” anymore. I hope you can put that fear to rest for good.
